Our Autumn Activities
We have been very busy in Ms. Ryan's class over the past few weeks. Here is a snapshot of what we have been up to.
Nature Walk exploring the Autumnal nature in Deer Park.
Learning all about the different parts of a volcano, making them and watching them explode!
Telling spooky ghost stories in front of a crackling bonfire, making delicious chocolate-dipped apples and writing all about the yummy experience as part of our work on procedural writing.
Being mindful and practicing our big, deep belly breaths!
As part of our work on the theme of homes we explored what home is like for people in the Philippines. We used our iPads to help us with our research!
We have been having lots of fun in maths and playing games to help us work as mathematicians. As part of maths day we were lucky enough to taste some Mathemagical cupcakes, and our birthday girl even got one to match her age!
In SESE we discovered the beauty of the Northern Lights, how they are formed and made our very own Northern Lights pictures with a Polar Bear. In drama we pretended to be Polar Bears and learnt about how their habitat is becoming endangered due to the melting ice caps. We then wrote lots of facts about Polar Bears as part of our work on the report writing genre!
